    Pinterest in the Sports Industry

Today's blog is all about Pintrest. This social phenomenon is filled with recipes, fashion, crafts, and other daily necessities. Pintrest has come, and is totally free to use. As you know, I try to take the trends in society and apply them to the sports industry. So how can we use Pintrest in sports?

While working for the Astros, I noticed the Astros Wives would put together small galas, charities, and other functions to help the Astro's fan base grow. I began to realize that maybe there is a huge opportunity with the Astros and Pinterest. Ok , I realize the Astros aren't a good team right now, so I'll use the World Series Champions, San Francisco Giants as an example. It's the off season, so lets pretend Tim Lincecum and "Fear the Beard" Brian Wilson are grilling steaks and fixing up potato salad while the wives are preparing pineapple blueberry crunch cake with homemade ice cream. Now,  imagine having access to some of your favorite players favorite recipes. Fans could log on and find their favorite players recipes with full instructions. What about Michael Phelps BBQ ribs or Ryan Locte's low carb ab friendly turkey spaghetti? We could take this a step further and film a segment of them preparing the meal and play it on the jumbo tron during half time or between innings to keep fans interested during downtime.

Pinterest is a huge bringing in over 3 billion users. Pinterest give you the ability to link fans back to their Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. By integrating Pinterest and logging in recipes, this allows you to attract more women in the market to sell other items such as tickets, jerseys, stuffed animals and much more. After the team has established enough recipes, publishing a cookbook would make a great gift for the holidays. What I've learned in the entertainment business is that every second counts, and people want something new and exciting every moment. So lets change it up, and fill their bellies with apple fritter cake by Dwight Howard and chocolate chip cookies by Hope Solo.
