Crossfit is huge. Over the past two and a half months, I have personally thrown myself into the gauntlet of pain. From burpees, double unders, and thrusters, I have found myself filled with excitement every time I step forth into Crossfit Push Box in Winter Park, FL. I remember the first time I walked into Crossfit Push Box. I was finishing up my 4 mile run and I was thinking that I should find a way to intensify my workouts. If anyone has done Crossfit before, you know that it is one of the most exhausting exercises you will ever endure. Currently, I am watching the 2012 Reebok Crossfit Games Women’s Competition and it is awesome to see women like Julie Foucher and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet to engage in Crossfit and become role models for women around the world.
Nonetheless, what does Crossfit
have to do with Entertainment Business? As many of you who follow my blog, I am
a sports marketing enthusiast and I enjoy following the many ways that business
become involved in sports. Those who follow Crossfit, the 2013 Reebok Crossfit
games are on the way. ESPN is currently airing re-runs of the 2011 and 2012
Reebok Crossfit games. If you watch closely you will notice the increase in
awareness, advertising, and sponsorship around the arena. Crossfit is slowly becoming more popular as years pass.
At Full Sail, we often talk about how to
engage in other industries by seizing the potential weaknesses inside the
industry. After watching the Crossfit Reebok Games, I notice the implementation
of new equipment, clothes, supplements, and other products. It is interesting
to see how companies begin to exploit Crossfit as it slowly begins to increase
awareness among the public.
To close out my addiction to Crossfit,
I would like to leave you with a couple of challenges. Before bed, try doing 3
rounds of 20 Push-ups, 20 air squats, and 20 sit-ups. Lastly, I want you guys
to try looking at other industries, and figure out ways how to improve them,
you will be surprised with what you come up with.

Mr. Griffin,
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed surfing around your blog and reading your posts, particularly this one. After reading about Crossfit and how it has boosted your exercising routine, I am now interested in taking the challenge myself. I try to exercise 3 to 4 times a week, but usually on my own. Crossfit seems to be a team effort and very motivational. This is definitely something I'm going to look into and I look forward to watching the 2013 Reebok Crossfit games.
Thanks,
Brandon Beattie
